“It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers.”
James Thurber
“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”
― Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa
To grow, you need to become comfortable with being uncomfortable.
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company…a church….a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you…we are in charge of our attitudes.”
― Charles R. Swindoll
And I can hear my Grandma say:
“Child, repeat after me. Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. “
Thank you Grandma. I miss you.
Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different… C.S. Lewis
“The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep…” Robert Frost
Happy New Year! This year I want to focus on trying new things, such as traveling to new places (any suggestions), learning new skills and volunteering locally. What about you? What are your plans for the year?
